Security &amp; Access<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Gates must always be kept locked and only opened for legitimate access.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Do not leave an unattended gate open.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Access hours: Between sunrise (or 7 AM, whichever is later) and dusk (or 8 PM, whichever is earlier).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. Eligibility &amp; Allocation<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Only residents of Elm Village (EVTRA members) may apply for a plot.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Plots are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, with priority given to residents without gardens.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>When a plot is relinquished, it returns to the EVGS Committee for reallocation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>No sub-letting, though plot sharing with friends or helpers is allowed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. Fees &amp; Payments<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Annual fees are set by the EVGS Committee and must be paid in advance.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fees cover membership, water usage, keys, and maintenance.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Current rates (subject to change):\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Membership \u2013 \u00a35<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Greenhouse \u2013 \u00a310<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Plot \u2013 \u00a330<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>By paying your fees, you agree to abide by these terms and conditions.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4. Plot Maintenance &amp; Responsibilities<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Plots must be actively cultivated and kept in regular use. Plots that are neglected or left uncultivated may be forfeited the following year.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Plot holders must treat the wood of their plot once a year. Failure to do so will result in forfeiture of the plot the following year.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Participation in at least\u00a0<strong>two<\/strong>\u00a0tidy-up days per year is compulsory, as organised by the EVGS Committee.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mindful water use: Water taps must be turned off after use, and water butts should be the first source of water.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Composting rules must be followed as per the on-site signs. No plastic or contaminants in compost.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Plots must be kept tidy throughout the year and left in good condition when vacated.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">5. General Site Rules<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>No fires, smoking, or loud music\/radios (smoking is strictly prohibited in the greenhouse).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>No animals (chickens, rabbits, pigs, goats, etc.).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dogs must be on a lead at all times.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>No blocking of paths, shared spaces, or other plots.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All tools must be put away after use and personal tools must be taken home.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Anyone under 16 must be supervised by an adult who takes full responsibility for their actions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Disputes will be handled by the EVGS Committee, whose decisions are final.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">6. Greenhouse Rules<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The EVGS Committee may take action on neglected plants or pest issues.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>No smoking in the greenhouse due to the risk of Tobacco Mosaic Virus contamination.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Greenhouse planting trenches are shared and decisions on planting will be made collectively.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bench space is divided equally among users.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pests, diseases, and weeds must be controlled using organic methods where possible.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Keep the greenhouse clean: Floors must be swept, hoses coiled after use, and no personal storage allowed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">7. Liability &amp; Compliance<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>EVGS and the allotment provider are not responsible for theft, damage, or personal injury.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tenants must adhere to all site rules and local regulations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\ud83d\udcc5 Last update: 5 March 2025 1.
