The rain eased off just in time for the Elm Village Season Celebrations just before the Christmas Holidays. A good time was had by all. Special thanks to all the organisers and performers including David & Harriet, Ed & Frances, Zoe, Jan, Pat, Peter, Nigel, Wendy and staff at the Constitution, Mike and his crew at Camden Garden Centre. Here’s a selection of photos sent in by residents.
Our ever-popular festive sing-song will take place in the Constitution cellar bar on Monday, 19th December 2011 at 7:00pm. We gather in the bar cellar, with mince pies and mulled wine courtesy of our host Wendy, the Constitution’s lovely landlady. This is your chance to wish your neighbours the best of the season and belt out Away in a Manger as heartily as you can.
The rain held off for just long enough and the Big Lunch went on, very successfully indeed – with lots of thanks due to David and Harriet Powell and all their helpers for their hard work. Loads of Elm Villagers turned out for a veritable feast and chit chat. We even had a visit from our Police Safer Neighbourhoods team (one of them had a particularly hearty appetite – no names mentioned). Let’s look forward to another such occasion.
Places for People and the Garden Society held an Elm Village Late Summer Garden Party at the South Canal Platform Space. Chefs from the highly acclaimed Moro restaurant were on hand grilling some wonderful middle eastern dishes. The party provided an opportunity to view the new green spaces development in the Village.
