The Counter Terrorism presentation has been developed to help update those living and working across the Borough of the current national threat from terrorism as well as outline the simple steps that can be taken to help protect ourselves and our community. In a nutshell, we will cover:
- The current threat
- Hostile Reconnaissance (suspicious behaviour)
- Suspicious items and how to respond to them
- Firearms and weapons attacks – what to do if you are caught up in one
How do rogue traders approach and target their victims these days?

- The typical ‘patter’
- How properties are marked to identify the vulnerability of the occupier
- How rogue traders pass their victim’s details on to others.
Friends House is located in the heart of Euston, directly opposite Euston Station, and a stone throw away from King’s Cross and St Pancras International Stations.
By rail: From its position opposite Euston’s rail and tube stations, it is a ten minute walk from King’s Cross Station and St Pancras International Terminus. All major rail terminals are easily reached by tube.
By tube: The nearest tube stations are Euston and Euston Square, which are on the Northern, Victoria, Metropolitan, Circle, Hammersmith & City lines and overground.
By car: Friends House is within a meter parking zone (Saturday 09:00 – 13:30). There are alternative, longer-term parking facilities under Euston Station. Please note that Friends House is within the congestion charge zone.
After more than 3 months, the waste of hundreds of thousands of gallons of water has finally been fixed. Residents of EVTRA and Camden Council made repeated requests to the developer and Thames Water to halt the discharge. The water system had been vandalised in November 2016 and this is why water was gushing 24/7.
This is what the canal will look like north of the Con once the One Housing Group development is complete. Residents can comment on the planning application at Camden Planning until 12th April 2017.
The development at 101 Camley Street (formerly DHL depot) has been discharging gallons of water daily since before Christmas. The site is owned by Market Tech which also owns Camden Market and is backed by a billionaire.
The facilities manager has made repeated requests to Thames Water to fix the problem. Thames Water have not fixed it claiming it is the responsibility of the property owner. The site was vandalised and thieves removed the water meter which led to the flooding.
On the one hand, this is a private property matter, on the other, EVTRA is a neighbouring community and as such a stakeholder group. As individuals, many residents make extra effort to conserve water. Market Tech is a multinational corporation that desires to be a good neighbour with environmental standards.
One would think that a major property developer would have access to put an engineer on site to fix the leak. Instead, a branch torn from one of the fir trees has recently been placed in front of the leak.

As well as gathering around a blazing autumn bonfire with neighbours, free food and live music – there will information from the Camley Street Neighbourhood Forum on the progress of the neighbourhood plan (remember all those questionnaires you filled in?) which is now ready to submit to Camden for approval. Copies of the latest version of the plan available to read and (hopefully) some graphics to show what the area would look like if the plan was fully implemented.
